Music City Canada
Ryan!
When I saw the Music City Canada job posting on Indeed I did a little air-guitar solo: I am a Web Developer, Graphic Designer, photographer, and bass player, living in Lambton County.
I would love the opportunity to chat with you about the Music City Canada website (it's a website I have spent a considerable amount of time on as a gear-head - your inventory filters are my favourite), and to share a bit about how I could contribute in this role.
For me, this is deeper than a developer finding a website to do meaningful work on; this is about purpose, and helping people thrive. Recently I spent serious time musing about Simon Sinek's incredible book Start with Why; and I am on a mission to help people be creative and technical - not just consumers, but creators. I think Music is one of the most important, accessible, and beautiful art forms in history, and I want to be a part of inspiring people to get away from their screens, and to be making something with other people.
Some high-level points about me:
- Professionally I've worked on 1000+ websites, including many you have heard of (Tim Hortons, BlackBerry, Petro Canada, etc.)
- Here is a recent project launch I led for a client in Hamilton: Kennedy + Kenel (built on WordPress)
- User Experience is my specialty; this means being very detail-oriented on facets like web accessibility (which makes a site killer for SEO)
- Photography has been a passion for years, I post regularly on 52 Frames
- I love copywriting: here is an article I wrote for PetaPixel
- I play bass guitar with a couple groups regularly, my most beloved axe is my trusty Fender Jazz
- My wife and kids are musicians too. In this age of AI, I am convinced that we need to embrace technical and creative forms of artistic expression; now more than ever.
I hope to hear from you soon. Please check out this link to more typical resume content, breaking-down of my history, experience, and a few accolades from those I've worked with:
