Music is an Investment

January 14, 2008 - By

I spend a lot of time researching and listening to new music. I have albums that are a year old that I barely even listen to anymore. It’s almost as if music isn’t cool unless it’s brand-new or really vintage.

It’s not as though I am turning my back on my musical loves for some newer younger songs, I’m investing in my vintage music portfolio. When I get old I’m going to be able to look back on a lot of wicked music, and enjoy the fruits of my labour. I’ve noticed that after a person reaches a certain age they stop trying new things. I’ve summed it up in a rhyme:

no more new clothes,
no more new music,
don’t identify with youth,
get into a buick.

I already don’t identify with youth, so I have to cram as much new music into my days as possible.

Invest! Music is yours!
