It’s all about Albums

Mixes are great, and likely the highlight of every IMP members month. As great as mixes are, we can’t forget the importance of the album.

That great song on your lastest mix might come from a great album. There’s nothing better than listening to a cohesive album; it’s a collection of songs made to be together, and arranged in the best order. To love and only listen to one song is like saying you only look at Mona Lisa’s hands, and disregarding the rest of the piece.

The greatest diservice you can do to yourself is to be a top 40 hound, only listening to the pop charts. When you get your next mix, be sure to check out the corresponding albums to the songs you dig, that’s where the real treasure will be.
