Weekend Blast!

You know what I like to do on a weekend? FILING! Over the weekend my wife and I tackled the enormous job of combining all of our filing into one filing cabinet. It wasn’t as painful as it sounds. I quite like sorting and categorizing. I haven’t always been this way; every envelope before Feb ’06 was still unopened until yesterday.

Here’s an amazing live Arcade Fire video.

Come Home Soon

This week my computer died in an ironic way. Even reformatting was resulting in bsod’s. It hasn’t been all bad though. Working on the laptop means I can sit in the comfy living room and watch the giant snow flakes mess up my driveway. I miss my computer, but it hasn’t been all good to me. I was remembering that when I had to use my old slow XP machine I would do pushups when I waited for apps to open. I’m in better shape when I use slow computers.

I spent a couple days working in North Bay from the Benjamin James office. I was given a stunning QOR backpack (I designed the logo in 05). On the 15 hour journey home I stopped in Toronto. I saw many unusual things, but since it was in Toronto, it was standard. By the laws of supply and demand life is cheap in the city.

Back!

It only makes sense that a web developer have their own website. I have been so busy working on other sites that I never had the time or inclination to do my own. I’m currently way too busy to have made this site, but there were some things I wanted to try that no other client jobs made room for. Hope you like it, drop me a line.

i’ve finally done it! i was employee of the month! it would be more impressive if i didn’t award myself, but that’s the kind of initiative it takes. it was pointed out that i’m also the worst employee. and since i updated this blog at work, i guess i agree.

anti-design

this month the awol gallery in toronto is holding the square foot gallery. it’s neat to see the emerging style of our generation. a lot of the work is very conceptual and experimental, a lot of mixed media. my favorites included some wax work, stencils and collage. what dada (anti-art) was to classic art this gallery is to corporate design. i think a lot of the artists like tim are sick of clean design and swoosh logos. worth the trip.
