Firefox’s Crazy 3D View

May 3, 2012 - By

My colleague Paul has done it again. He showed me a very strange thing in the new Firefox inspector (not to be confused with Firebug). If you have WebGL all set up right you can right-click on any site, Inspect Element (Q) and then view in 3D. If you can’t do this on your machine check out these mind blowing screen shots.

You can then rotate and flip the site to see all of the elements stacked. Here’s a comparison between ArleyM.com, Thrillworks.com and a table-based layout!

Not sure how practical this is… maybe for reviewing the z-index of items when a layout gets crazy? Still pretty cool!
