Expanded Horizons in ’08

Think about all the recorded music in the world.

What percentage of it do you think you like or could like? Even if only 1% of the total body of music matches your tastes, that is an incomprehensible amount of music.

Let’s face it: There’s enough music out there right now even if bands stopped making new songs.
Realistically we could happily listen to music 24 hours a day for the rest of our lives without ever hearing the same song twice.

Feel free to broaden your horizons in ’08 and listen to some stuff outside of your little boxes.

Ha ha ha?

Christmas is a special time of year. It’s a time when people of different ideals get irked at how the holiday season doesn’t totally reflect their beliefs. Let’s all have a little more tolerance. I know how choked Christianity makes people feel; what with the decorated trees, flying reindeer, and the fat old man distributing toys made by elves. Errr, um… It’s the time of year when some people remember how and why Jesus Christ was born. Don’t be a wet blanket, and quit trying to change Christmas.

Are you making me a mix?

Hello! I’m not sure who reads my profile. When I get a new person to make a mix for I like to go into my mix history, and checkout the profile of the person that I’m making a mix for to make sure I don’t make them something they hate.

Wanna know what I hate? Not getting a mix. I have been a member since February 2007. I have had three people actually send me a mix that were supposed to. Even the replacement mix for June never happened. Poor poor me.

If you’re making me a mix, please just make one. I’m ecclectic and easy to please. I like to keep up on the trends, the hidden gems, the oldies and the weird stuff. I don’t like country music necessarily, but I’d be happy to get a country mix. Get it? Make me a mix!!!

Remember, you signed up for IMP because we all like making and getting music. Let’s take some pride in this community.
